Senator Donates cows, Rice, N12.5m to Zawiyyahs for Maulud

Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has called on Muslims to intensify prayers for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria as they commemorate Mauludun Nabiyyi Muhammad (SAW).
Yari, who is also known as Khadimul Islam, urged Muslims to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration, seeking divine guidance and success in addressing the challenges confronting the country.

In his Maulud message, the senator said the celebration provides an opportunity for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and sacrifices of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), while promoting tolerance, compassion, justice and peaceful coexistence.

He also appealed to Islamic scholars, Imams and clerics to use their sermons to encourage patriotism, religious tolerance and support for policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.

As part of his annual support for the Muslim community, Senator Yari donated 43 cows, 356 bags of rice and N12.5 million in cash to 43 Zawiyyahs across the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The donations are intended to support Islamic scholars, students and faithful during the Maulud celebration, particularly amid the prevailing economic difficulties.

The distribution was formally flagged off at the Late President Muhammadu Buhari Juma’at Mosque in Unguwar Gwaza, Gusau.

The event was conducted on behalf of Senator Yari by Hon. Sani Garba Gusau, Commissioner representing Zamfara State on the Federal Character Commission, Abuja, and an associate of the senator.

Speaking at the ceremony, Gusau described the donation as part of Yari’s longstanding tradition of supporting Islamic scholars and institutions during Maulud.

He said the intervention was aimed at helping beneficiaries celebrate the occasion with greater comfort while reaffirming the senator’s commitment to supporting religious institutions and communities across the state.

Gusau also conveyed Yari’s goodwill message to Muslims in Zamfara, Nigeria and beyond, urging them to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly honesty, compassion, justice and service to humanity.

At the event, Liman Isah of Unguwar Gwaza led special prayers for Senator Yari and President Tinubu. He prayed for divine guidance, protection and success for the President, as well as peace and stability across Nigeria.

Isah described Yari as a leader committed to the welfare of his people and prayed for continued blessings and wisdom for him in his service to Zamfara and the country.

The ceremony was attended by Islamic scholars, district heads, representatives of the 43 beneficiary Zawiyyahs and community leaders.

Senator Yari reiterated his commitment to supporting religious institutions and urged Nigerians to embrace the values of love, unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence embodied by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
