Rival Transport Unions Clash in Ilorin, Five Injured and Hospitalised

At least five people were hospitalised following a violent clash between rival transport unions in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, as an ongoing dispute between the groups reportedly escalated into a confrontation that disrupted activities in parts of the city. The violence, which left several people injured, reportedly created tension among residents, traders, commuters and other road users in the affected area, with eyewitnesses said to have witnessed the situation deteriorate as members of the rival unions confronted one another.

According to reports, the disagreement between the transport unions quickly turned violent, resulting in injuries to at least five people who were subsequently taken to hospital for medical attention. The incident also affected transportation and commercial activities in the area, as residents and commuters reportedly fled the scene to avoid being caught in the violence, while the situation caused temporary fear and panic among people going about their normal daily activities.
