Breaking: Sanchitagi Qasim Apologises Over TVC Interview, set Conditions for Supporting Kwara North Governorship Zoning

Sanchitagi Qasim has apologised over his controversial interview on TVC News, pledging readiness to support the zoning of the 2027 governorship to Kwara North—subject to key conditions.

In a statement addressed to Kwara Northerners, Qasim admitted disappointing some supporters and outlined demands he believes are necessary to strengthen the region’s agenda.

He said, “ I’m sorry for disappointing some of you and now that I have realized my mistakes, I’m willing to support the zoning of the governorship position to the region on the following conditions:

Leaders of Kwara North Agenda should publicly declare that Governor AA’s administration has disappointed the region having failed to deliver a single model school, hospital, road, or any legacy project in about 8 years.

Aspirants from the region should provide public evidence where they had complained in the past about the underdevelopment of the region and the alternatives they provided.

Kwara North elders should issue a joint communique on the state of our security and education like they did in the case of zoning.

All aspirants be invited for a public debate to present their developmental plans for the region so that people can choose one person and support even in an opposition party.

There should be a committee of sensible individuals who will educate others on Kwara North Agenda without intimidation or bullying.

With these conditions, I will put everything in line to support zoning of governorship position to Kwara North.

Qasim came under heavy criticism from some members of the public who disagreed with his views on power rotation in Kwara State.
