Two abducted minors have been rescued by a joint security team comprising operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and forest guards during an operation in a forest between Oba Isin and Owa Onire communities in Isin and Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Kwara State.

According to a report published by Nigerian Tribune and monitored by NupekoTV, the rescued victims were identified as 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and five-year-old Ibrahim Azeez.

The report stated that the security operatives stormed the kidnappers' hideouts, leading to an exchange during which two suspected bandits were killed, while others reportedly escaped with injuries.

Items recovered from the suspects included an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun, a fully loaded magazine, nine empty ammunition shells, a mini solar panel and food items.

The operation was said to be part of ongoing multi-agency counterterrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts aimed at tackling insecurity and kidnapping activities in parts of Kwara State.
