The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Kwara State for the 2027 general election, Comrade Musa Saidu Tsaragi, has congratulated the families of the 176 victims abducted from Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area following reports of their release after months in captivity.

In a statement made available to NUPEKOTV, the AAC candidate described the victims' freedom as a moment of relief, gratitude, and renewed hope for the affected families and communities across Kwara North.

"I heartily congratulate the families and loved ones of the 176 kidnapped Woro victims in Kwara North on the joyful news of their regained freedom. This is a moment of relief, gratitude, and renewed hope for our communities," Tsaragi said.

He also commended the efforts of the security agencies and government authorities whose interventions, according to him, contributed to the successful release of the victims.

"Every innocent life rescued is a victory for humanity," he added.

The AAC governorship candidate further stated that the development reinforces his longstanding calls for stronger and more decisive government action to address insecurity in Kwara North. He noted that he has consistently advocated improved security measures to protect lives, farmlands, and communities affected by armed attacks and kidnappings.

While celebrating the release of the victims, Tsaragi urged the government and security agencies not to relent in their efforts until lasting peace and security are restored across all affected communities in the state.

He emphasized that the rescue of the Woro victims should serve as renewed motivation to intensify security operations and prevent future attacks, particularly in vulnerable communities across Kwara North.

The release of the Woro victims has continued to attract reactions from political leaders, community stakeholders, and residents, many of whom have described the development as a significant step toward restoring hope to communities that have endured months of uncertainty.

NUPEKOTV reports that residents are also calling for sustained security operations to ensure the safe return of all remaining victims of abduction and the restoration of lasting peace across Kwara State.
