APC Chieftain Shares ₦1,000 to Supporters Ahead of Saturday Osun Poll

A video circulating widely on social media has captured a man wearing an APC campaign shirt branded with “AMBO” distributing ₦1,000 notes to a group of women supporters in Osun State, just a day before the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
In the footage, the man, dressed in a white T-shirt and blue cap bearing the nickname of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (popularly known as AMBO), moves among seated women at an outdoor gathering. Many of the recipients are also dressed in matching white campaign polo shirts featuring the candidate’s name and logo. The women open their purses and bags as the cash is handed out openly.

The short clip, which has gone viral across platforms, shows the distribution taking place in a residential compound setting under daylight, with other supporters standing in the background. Reports identify the notes being shared as ₦1,000 each.

The development comes amid heightened campaign activities and ongoing concerns about voter inducement ahead of the Osun State governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and anti-corruption agencies have repeatedly warned political parties and their agents against vote buying, citing provisions in the Electoral Act that prescribe fines, imprisonment, and possible disqualification for those found guilty.

Reactions continue to pour in online, with some describing the act as brazen vote-buying while others view it as routine campaign support for party loyalists.

The Osun governorship election will hold tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, 2026, with APC’s Bola Oyebamiji challenging the incumbent and other candidates.

NupekoTv will continue to monitor developments.
