Katsina Forest Guard Trainee Arrested Over Alleged Ammunition Supply to Bandits
PC: Katsinatimes
Security operatives have arrested a newly recruited Forest Guard trainee, Zahraddin Abdullahi Karadua, over allegations that he supplied ammunition to suspected bandits in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Karadua was reportedly arrested during his training and is being questioned over his alleged involvement in the movement of ammunition to criminal groups operating in the area.
In a video obtained by NupekoTV, the suspect is seen being questioned about the alleged transaction. He reportedly told investigators that he collected ammunition from a man identified as Muhammadu in Kano before transporting it to Karadua, where he allegedly handed it over to a woman identified as Sahiba.
Sahiba was also reportedly questioned and allegedly admitted receiving the ammunition. She further claimed that she later transported it to a suspected bandit camp near Maharba village.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the identities and roles of the individuals mentioned remain subject to investigation by the relevant authorities.
The development has renewed concerns over the alleged role of civilian networks in providing weapons, intelligence and logistical support to armed groups operating across parts of northern Nigeria.
Authorities are expected to investigate the alleged supply chain and determine whether other individuals were involved.
The Alleged video was posted on the X|Bakatsine platform.
