BREAKING: Deadly Explosion Hits Kwara Community, Several Feared Killed

Panic has engulfed Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State following a deadly explosion on Monday, March 23, 2026, which reportedly claimed multiple lives.

According to early accounts from residents, the explosion occurred when a moving vehicle allegedly ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), suspected to have been planted by insurgents linked to Boko Haram.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as the blast ripped through the area, leaving several victims dead and others with serious injuries. The incident has further heightened fears in the community, which has already been grappling with growing insecurity in recent times.

Sources within the area revealed that many residents have fled their homes over fears of additional attacks, while others remain in shock over the tragic development.

As of the time of this report, security agencies have not issued any official statement. Authorities are, however, expected to commence a full investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the explosion and identify those responsible.
