OP-ED: Kwara 2027: ARABA Maintains Lead As Power Brokers Harvest Feedbacks Ahead of APC Primaries 

The power brokers in the All Progressives Congress (APC) are not leaving any stone unturned ahead of primary election to determine the Party's governorship flagbearer in Kwara State. 

As of today, the race is becoming clearer with the emergence of top Contenders for Ahmadu Bello Government House race as Pretenders and Attention Seekers are displaying their last cards. It is now clear that Kwara APC would not zone the governorship ticket to any senatorial district amidst conflicting agitations. 

Initially, about 30 APC members indicated interest in the Kwara 2027 governorship race, only about 15 aspirants boldly went forward to obtain Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms. This is another way to know to identify serious Contenders with capacity, social capacity and resources to fund their campaign, if given the party's governorship ticket.

Feeders show that Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa who is a former APC State Chairman, the Chairman of Stefolga Group/Flow FM; Engr. Femi Sanni (ARABA), Speaker Kwara State House of Assembly; Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi, Senator representing Kwara Central; Mall. Saliu Mustapha and CEO of Kursi Investment Ltd; Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki are the main Contenders for APC governorship ticket in Kwara State. This list reflects statewide spread and open race in the ruling party. 

While all these five aspirants possess unique qualities to be the flagbearer of APC in the State, Engr. Femi Sanni (ARABA) stands out with a clean slate, demonstrating not just capacity but credibility to lead.

Engr. Femi Sanni (ARABA) from Omu-aran, Kwara South Senatorial district is a well known figure in the State with a progressive pedigree dating back over two decades of consistent participation with remarks impacts/connection. 

He is a friend of all zones. Sanni grew up in Ilorin GRA with allies across 16 local government areas of Kwara State. He needs no introduction in any local government area. Just echo ARABA, everybody will shout Femi Sanni vice versa.

No wonder, his candidacy has attracted endorsement from different groups including political party members, artisans, traders, community leaders and other interest groups. 

Interestingly, ARABA is fast becoming a daily dose of vitamin for Kwarans across 193 wards as independent campaign groups are mobilizing support for the Tech Entrepreneur ahead of the party primaries.

Sanni remains the talking point in Kwara APC to emerge the flag-bearer for APC for 2027 general elections.

One thing is clear, fielding Engr. Femi Sanni (ARABA) as the APC Candidate for the general elections would be a winning magic for the party and a worthy successor to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
