Sanchitagi Qasim raises alarm over dilapidated Dzara healthcare centre, calls for accountability of Edu LG funds
A social commentator and community development advocate, Sanchitagi Qasim, has raised concerns over the deteriorating condition of the Dzara Healthcare Centre in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing the facility as unfit to serve the eleven communities that depend on it for healthcare services.
In a strongly worded statement shared on social media, Qasim condemned what he described as the silence and negligence of political actors in Kwara North over the state of the healthcare facility. According to him, several individuals who parade themselves as advocates for the region have failed to address critical issues affecting the people, despite occupying influential public offices.
The communities affected by the poor condition of the healthcare centre include Kpankparagi, Funti, Guduzuru, Kpangulu, Baganko, Zanagun, Lukpete, Ebangi, Chikangi, Kpasha Woro, and Dzara.
Qasim also questioned the accountability of the Edu Local Government administration, alleging that despite huge allocations to the council, there has been little visible impact beyond occasional renovation of classrooms.
He further urged residents to demand accountability from political leaders, stressing that communities should expose visiting politicians and campaigners to the realities facing rural dwellers rather than celebrating them with entertainment and fanfare.
The Dzara Healthcare Centre, according to Qasim, is located barely twenty minutes from Lafiagi, the headquarters of Edu Local Government Area, yet remains in what he described as a deplorable and inhumane condition.
