PHOTONEWS: Posters of Kwara Governor’s Relative Surface in Ilorin Amid 2027 Governorship Speculations
Political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State appear to be gradually gaining traction as campaign posters of Mallam AbdulRahman Giwa, said to be related to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, have begun appearing across parts of Ilorin under the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The sudden spread of the posters in key areas of the Ilorin metropolis has stirred conversations within political circles, with many interpreting the development as an early indication of preparations for the next governorship contest in the state.
Observers noted that the appearance of the posters comes at a time discussions surrounding succession politics and possible contenders for the 2027 race are beginning to intensify across party lines, especially within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Findings also revealed that the NDC has been making moves to strengthen its presence in Kwara State through the formation of grassroots structures and the inauguration of party officials after a recent congress reportedly held in the Government Reserved Area (GRA), Ilorin.
Analysts believe the emergence of Giwa on the opposition platform may further reshape political calculations in the state as parties continue consultations, alliances, and strategic positioning ahead of the forthcoming electoral season.
