The National Association of Patigi Emirate Students (NAPES) National Headquarters has appealed to the Kwara State Government, security agencies, traditional rulers, and other relevant stakeholders to urgently intervene in the abduction of a student of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi.
In a statement released by the association, NAPES identified the victim as Gana Usman, a final-year student of the Department of English, who was reportedly kidnapped alongside his brother by unidentified gunmen.

According to the association, the abductors are demanding a ransom of ₦50 million for the release of the two brothers, a sum it described as far beyond the financial capacity of the family.

NAPES described the incident as tragic and called for immediate and coordinated efforts to secure the safe return of the victims.

The association appealed to the Kwara State Government, Patigi Local Government authorities, security agencies, political office holders, and traditional institutions to take swift and decisive action to rescue the abducted brothers.

In its statement, the student body stressed that no family should be left to face such a burden alone, urging all relevant authorities to prioritize the case and intensify rescue operations.

The association also called on security agencies to strengthen efforts aimed at locating the victims and bringing those responsible for the abduction to justice.

The incident has generated concern within the Patigi Emirate and among members of the academic community, with many expressing hope for the safe and unharmed return of the victims.

NAPES further expressed solidarity with the family of Gana Usman and reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the release of the abducted student and his brother.

The statement concluded with a call on members of the public and stakeholders to support ongoing efforts to secure the freedom of the victims, using the campaign hashtags #SaveUsman, #SaveHisBrother, and #SaveOurStudents.

As of the time of filing this report, security authorities had not issued an official statement regarding the incident or the reported ransom demand.
