Nupeko TV Lafiagi Introduces New Editorial Policy, to Focus on Kwara North Insecurity for One Week
The Management of NupekoTV Lafiagi has announced a new editorial directive, shifting its focus exclusively to the growing insecurity in Kwara North.
According to the statement, the policy takes immediate effect following a tragic incident on Monday, 1st June 2026, in which a man identified as Ya Ndagba from Lafiagi Emirate, headquarters of Edu Local Government Area, was killed, while several others were reportedly kidnapped.
In response, NupekoTV Lafiagi will commence a one-week solidarity campaign aimed at raising awareness about the worsening security situation across Kwara North. The editorial shift will also draw global attention to the plight of over 178 children from Kaiama and other parts of the region who are still believed to be in captivity, amid ongoing cases of killings and kidnappings.
The management further emphasised that the platform will prioritise content related strictly to security issues during this period, urging its audience to remain focused, responsible, and actively engaged in advocacy for peace and the safety of the region.
The statement calls for collective efforts from all stakeholders to address the persistent security challenges affecting communities across Kwara North.
