The Edu LG football team have booked their place in the final of the football event at the 8th edition of the Kwara State Sports Festival after defeating Isin LG 4-3 on penalties.
The tense semi final clash ended 0-0 after regulation time as both teams battled fiercely but failed to find the breakthrough.
Edu LG eventually held their nerve in the decisive penalty shootout, winning 4-3 to secure their place in the final.
NupekoTV reports that the victory has sparked celebrations among Edu supporters as the team continues its impressive campaign at the sports festival.
Speaking exclusively to NupekoTV Editor-in-Chief, Usman Haruna, Abdulmaleek Manzuma (Dan Buram), Chairman of the Edu Football Association, praised the team’s performance and expressed confidence ahead of Saturday’s final.
The final is scheduled for 3:30pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, George Agbazika Innih Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
Edu LG will now battle for the ultimate prize as they seek to crown their impressive campaign with the football gold medal.
