Despite Past Call to Kill, APC Senator Fadahunsi Seen Intimidating Voters During Osun Election
Senator Francis Fadahunsi of Osun East Senatorial District has been seen in a video instructing All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters at his polling unit to monitor voters during the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
In the video recorded at NUD Primary School Collation Centre in Ilase-Ijesa, Fadahunsi is seen addressing APC supporters and directing them to monitor the choices made by voters during the election.
Fadahunsi is also heard instructing his supporters to take action against those who do not follow the APC.
He further said that those who did not vote for the APC were not “real Ijesha indigenes,” a remark made while addressing his supporters at the polling centre.
The development has raised concerns over voter intimidation and the freedom of voters to cast their ballots without fear or interference.
The incident is particularly significant against the backdrop of Fadahunsi’s previous controversial remarks during the election campaign, when he was seen and heard making a call to kill.
Despite the earlier call, the senator has now been captured on video directing supporters to monitor voters during the election.
The conduct has prompted calls for security agencies to intervene and ensure that voters are allowed to freely exercise their franchise without intimidation, surveillance or threats.
The Osun governorship election is currently ongoing across the state, with voters casting their ballots to elect the next governor.
