Osun Governorship Election: Accord Takes Early Lead as Unofficial Results Emerge
The Accord Party has taken an early lead in several polling units across Osun State, according to unofficial results reported by Naija News as result collation continues across the state.
The emerging figures show Accord recording strong performances in parts of Ede, Osogbo, Iwo and Ifedayo, although the results have not been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In Ede South, Accord secured 203 votes against APC’s 60 at Jagunjagun Ward 1, Unit 13. At another unit in the same ward, Accord recorded 313 votes while APC polled 56.
At Ede North Ward 3, Unit 7, Accord polled 167 votes against APC’s 51 and ADC’s two. At Olusokun Ward 4, Unit 3, Accord recorded 264 votes against APC’s 62, while Buhari Ishola Ward 8, Unit 8, recorded 173 votes for Accord and 66 for APC.
The party also posted strong figures in Osogbo. At Ward 4, Unit 29, Accord recorded 281 votes against APC’s 82 and ADC’s eight. At Ward 4, Unit 20, Accord polled 167 votes, while APC and ADC recorded 82 and 10 respectively.
Another result from Osogbo Ward 4, Unit 19, gave Accord 212 votes against APC’s 105 and ADC’s three.
In Iwo, Accord maintained its advantage across several polling units. At Ward 6, Unit 12, the party secured 82 votes against APC’s 55 and ADC’s one.
At the Iwo Post Office polling units, Accord recorded 168 votes against APC’s 89 in Unit 4; 120 against 56 in Unit 5; 158 against 62 in Unit 6; and 162 against 31 in Unit 13.
Accord also recorded significant margins in other areas. At Egbedore Ward 3, Unit 3, the party polled 274 votes against APC’s 40, while at Obalaoye Alajue 1, Unit 4, Accord secured 332 votes against APC’s 34 and ADC’s two.
At Ifedayo Ward 5, Unit 5, Accord recorded 162 votes against APC’s 115.
The APC, however, recorded notable victories in some polling units.
At Iragbiji Ward 3, Unit 9, APC secured 306 votes against Accord’s 99, while at Olorunda Ward 9, Unit 7, APC polled 211 votes against Accord’s 72 and ADC’s one.
A particularly close contest was recorded at Okuku Ward 1, Unit 5, where Accord and APC both secured 128 votes.
The early figures suggest that Accord is performing strongly in several polling units, but the results remain preliminary and should not be treated as the final outcome of the election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission remains responsible for the official collation and declaration of the Osun State governorship election results.
