Edu Team Qualifies for Semi-Finals as FA Chairman Applauds Support from Edu LGA Chairman, NupekoTV and Others

The Edu football team has qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing Kwara State Sports Festival after progressing from the group stage of the competition.

The team’s impressive run has continued to attract support from individuals and organisations committed to the development of sports and young talents in Edu Local Government Area.

Chairman of the Edu Football Association, Abdulmalik Manzuma (Dan Buram), has expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Edu Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Ndamangoro, for his strong support and encouragement to the team throughout the competition.

Manzuma described the LGA Chairman’s support as a major source of motivation for the players and officials, saying such backing demonstrates the importance of government and community leadership in developing grassroots sports.

He particularly praised Hon. Abdullahi Bello for identifying with the team and supporting its participation in the competition, noting that the players need continued encouragement as they progress into the crucial stages of the tournament.

“We sincerely appreciate our Executive Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, for his great support to the Edu team. His support means a lot to us. When our leaders stand behind us, it gives the team more confidence and motivation to do better.

“We want to appeal to him to continue doing more for the team because we appreciate everything he is doing. We also encourage other individuals, organisations and well-meaning people from Edu to emulate this kind of support.”

The FA Chairman also acknowledged the support received from NupekoTV, describing the media platform’s intervention as another encouraging example of people standing behind the Edu team at an important moment.

According to him, the support from NupekoTV and other well-meaning supporters has shown the players that they are not alone in their pursuit of success.

“We also appreciate NupekoTV and everyone who has supported this team. These gestures show the players that people are watching them, people believe in them, and people want them to succeed.

“We need more people and organisations to come forward and support the team. When you support grassroots sports, you are supporting the future of our young people.

“Our aim and prayer is to win this competition. We are determined to win the cup, and we will give everything we have to achieve that. We are calling on everyone to continue supporting and praying for the team as we go into the semi-final.”

The Edu team will now face the next challenge in the football competition as they take on their semi-final opponents on Friday, August 28.

The Edu Football Association has called on supporters, community leaders and well-meaning individuals to continue encouraging the team as they battle for a place in the final.
