Emir Calls Out Governor Over Deplorable Roads

The Emir of Bassa-Nge in Kogi State has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to urgently intervene in the deplorable condition of major roads linking communities in the area.

The Emir made the appeal as Bassa community leaders renewed calls for the rehabilitation of the Shintaku-Gboloko-Dekina and Odenyi-Oguma roads, which they said had deteriorated and were causing hardship for residents.

The affected roads serve as important links between communities in Bassa and neighbouring parts of Kogi State, with their poor condition affecting movement, transportation and economic activities.

The appeal comes amid renewed concerns over the state of the roads, with residents and community stakeholders urging the state government to take concrete action.

The Bassa leaders called on Governor Ododo to prioritise the rehabilitation of the roads and address the difficulties being experienced by communities that depend on them.

The calls also reflect longstanding concerns over road infrastructure in Bassa. Previous appeals have similarly urged the government to intervene in the Odenyi-Oguma road and other key routes in the area.
