Gunmen Invade Kwara Fuel Station, Abduct Two

Suspected bandits have attacked the Sunzy Fuel Station in Yana Kokonna, Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting two people.

The incident reportedly occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2026.

Sources told NupekoTV that the gunmen stormed the fuel station and took away two victims. One of the victims was identified as a final-year student of Adesina College of Education, who was reportedly at the station to celebrate the sign-out programme. The second victim is said to be a Female employee of the fuel station.

The attack marks the second time the facility has been targeted within 11 months.

In the previous incident, NupekoTV reported the abduction of the Chief Executive Officer of Sunzy Fuel Station. He was later released after reportedly spending several days in captivity, with sources claiming that a ransom of more than N100 million was paid for his freedom.

The latest attack has renewed concerns about the security situation in parts of Kwara North and Edu Local Government Area, particularly in communities around Tsaragi.

As of the time of filing this report, attempts by NupekoTV to reach the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer for confirmation were unsuccessful, as she did not respond to calls.
