TERROR IN KWARA: Fresh Lata Nna Attack Leaves Woman Dead, Several Injured

NupekoTV-Lafiagi reports that suspected bandits on Sunday morning carried out another violent attack on Lata Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing a woman and leaving several residents injured.

According to eyewitness accounts obtained by NupekoTV-Lafiagi, the attackers invaded the community in the early hours, targeting farmers on their farmlands and firing indiscriminately. The sudden assault triggered panic, forcing residents to flee for safety.

A community source confirmed that the deceased, a Nupe woman, had gone to the farm with others when the gunmen struck. She was reportedly ambushed and killed during the attack, while several others sustained injuries.

As of the time of this report, the exact number of casualties remains uncertain, as residents continue to search affected areas and account for missing persons.

Residents described the attack as swift and unexpected, expressing concern over the continued absence of an adequate security presence in the area despite repeated appeals to authorities.

“The gunshots were not from locally made weapons. The attackers came suddenly. Although vigilantes mobilised, they confirmed one woman had already been killed before they arrived,” a resident told NupekoTV-Lafiagi.

This latest incident reinforces growing fears over the deteriorating security situation in Lata Nna and surrounding communities, where recurring attacks have left residents vulnerable and increasingly desperate for urgent government intervention.
