FG moves academic certificate verification online, ends physical visits

The Federal Government has moved the verification and authentication of academic certificates fully online, ending the need for applicants to make physical visits to the Federal Ministry of Education.

The new digital system allows applicants within Nigeria and abroad to initiate and complete the certificate evaluation and authentication process electronically.

Under the arrangement, applicants are required to register on the designated platform, upload the necessary documents and complete their applications online.

Where transcripts are required, the awarding institution is expected to send the official transcript directly to the Ministry through its approved institutional email channel. Applicants are not allowed to submit such transcripts themselves.

The Federal Ministry of Education said the digital process is aimed at reducing delays, improving transparency and strengthening the integrity of academic certificate verification.

The move is also expected to make the service more accessible to Nigerians and other applicants who previously had to travel to the Ministry’s offices to process their requests.

Applicants can now use the Ministry’s online platform to begin the certificate verification and authentication process without making a physical visit.
