Kwara Youths Threaten Protest Over Kidnap Victims’ Captivity

Concerned youths from Tsaragi and surrounding communities in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State have threatened to stage a peaceful protest over the continued captivity of residents abducted by kidnappers.

In a letter addressed to the Edu Local Government Area and the Kwara State Government and seen by NupekoTV, the youths said they had waited patiently and made several appeals and consultations, but the situation remained unresolved.

The youths said families in Tsaragi and surrounding communities want their loved ones brought back home safely, expressing dissatisfaction with what they described as inadequate efforts by the local and state governments to address the situation.

They stressed that the planned protest would not be politically motivated or an opposition demonstration but a peaceful action aimed at drawing the government’s attention to the security situation.

They called on concerned youths to remain united and peaceful, adding that the date, time and venue of the protest would be communicated through the Tsaragi Political Discussions WhatsApp Group.

The youths demanded urgent government action and the safe return of all those still in captivity, declaring: “Enough is enough.”
