NupekoTV Lauds KWSG on Lafiagi/Patigi Electricity Project, Begins Countdown to Completion on Its Website

NupekoTV has commended the Kwara State Government for the commencement of the 65-kilometre 33KV overhead electricity line project linking Lafiagi and Patigi, describing it as a major step towards addressing the longstanding electricity challenges facing communities in the two areas.

The media platform also announced the commencement of a countdown on its website to the project’s expected completion date of December 8, 2026.

The project was announced on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, by the Kwara State Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy, who said the construction is expected to be completed within 14 weeks.

In a statement made by its Publisher, Mohammed Alhaji Tauheed, the platform said the decision to begin the countdown was aimed at keeping the project in the public eye and tracking the government’s commitment to delivering the electricity infrastructure within the announced timeframe.

“NupekoTV welcomes this development and considers it a significant intervention for the people of Lafiagi, Patigi and surrounding communities who have waited for improved electricity supply for years,” the statement said.

According to the platform, the countdown will serve as a public reminder of the 14-week timeline announced by the state government while allowing residents to follow the progress of the project until its expected completion.

NupekoTV urged the Kwara State Government and the contractors handling the project to ensure that the work is executed to specification and completed within the announced timeframe.

The platform said the successful completion of the project would have significant implications for economic activities, businesses, education, healthcare and the general wellbeing of residents across the affected communities.

NupekoTV further said it would continue to monitor developments around the project and provide updates to the public as work progresses.

The website countdown, prominently displayed on NupekoTV header and footer sections will continue until December 8, 2026, the date announced for the expected completion of the project.
