2027: Wale Sulaiman Pledges Free Education, Better Healthcare for Kwara Residents

A renowned neurosurgeon and governorship aspirant, Wale Sulaiman, has promised to prioritise free education and improved healthcare if elected governor of Kwara State.

Sulaiman made the pledge during a media parley with journalists where he outlined key priorities of his proposed administration.

According to him, his decision to join the governorship race is driven by a desire to deploy his global experience and professional exposure in service of the people of Kwara.

“I have travelled far and near, worked hard and gained a lot of experience as a global neurosurgeon. It is time to offer myself for the top job in Kwara to serve the people,” he said.

The aspirant emphasised that education would be the cornerstone of his administration, describing it as the most powerful tool for personal growth and societal development.

He pledged to ensure access to quality and free education if elected, recalling that he benefitted from a similar policy during his early years in Lagos State under the administration of former governor Lateef Jakande.

“Education remains the most important tool that can fast-track both personal and societal development. Quality and free education will be the major focus of my administration when elected,” he added.

Sulaiman also promised to promote strong agricultural programmes, improve healthcare delivery, strengthen security, and deploy modern technology to drive development across the state.

He stressed that inclusive governance would guide his administration, assuring residents that the voices of the people would shape government policies and programmes.

“Our administration will value the input of the people to ensure equitable distribution of the state’s resources,” he said.

Sulaiman further highlighted the importance of collaboration between government and the media, describing journalists as critical partners in development.

According to him, his administration would maintain a positive relationship with media practitioners, noting that beyond providing feedback on government policies, journalists also contribute significantly to the state’s economy.

“Government and the media are partners in progress. Our administration will continue to build positive relationships with journalists. Apart from receiving valuable feedback from them, they are also a significant part of the state’s economy and we will invest reasonably in them,” he stated.
