Update on Abba, the Abducted NYSC Corps Member: Kidnappers Demand Third Motorcycle After Receiving Two.

The family of Abba, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member kidnapped in Zamfara State earlier this year, has shared a distressing new development in his ongoing captivity. After quietly delivering two brand-new motorcycles (often referred to as "bikes" or "machines") to his abductors last week—without public announcement—the kidnappers rejected the partial fulfillment of their demand.
According to multiple accounts circulating on X (formerly Twitter) today from users close to the situation, including @great_j0rdan and @Abdul_Ahmad_, the abductors' "boss" (kingpin) claimed his subordinates never informed him of any agreement for only two bikes. He insisted on sticking to the original terms: three motorcycles in total. As a result, the family must now provide one additional bike to meet the demand.

The update notes that Abba's relatives, aware the kidnappers monitor online developments, handled the delivery discreetly to avoid complications. Despite the handover of the two bikes, the captors have not released Abba and are holding firm on the third item. Sources indicate the family is emotionally and financially exhausted after previously raising and paying a ₦10 million ransom in early March, only for the abductors to impose further conditions and intermittently cut communication.

Earlier reports from March (including detailed accounts from friends like @gwaska_dsd) described the ransom handover process: Abba's aunt delivered the cash under high-risk circumstances, with one bandit even using part of the money to pay her motorcycle rider. Post-payment, the kidnappers demanded three motorcycles before releasing him, leading to fears for his safety when contact ceased temporarily. A video released around March 8–9 showed Abba alive (recorded on the 19th day of Ramadan), debunking rumors of his death after his family had held funeral prayers in absentia.

The family has emphasized they are **not** launching another crowdfunding appeal. Updates are shared solely to inform the public and explain the prolonged ordeal. Private outreach for assistance remains possible if individuals wish to help.

Abba's case highlights the persistent dangers faced by NYSC corps members in insecure regions, particularly during travel between states. No official statement has been issued by NYSC, security agencies, or authorities regarding rescue efforts or negotiations as of today.

This remains a heartbreaking and fluid situation. Prayers continue for Abba's safe and swift release, along with all victims of abduction in Nigeria. Further developments will be monitored closely.
