Bandits Kill Farmer in Wodata Community Near Zambufu

A suspected bandit attack has claimed the life of a farmer in Wodata community, via Zambufu, following a violent incident that occurred around Jummat prayer time.

According to a community member who reported the incident to NupekoTV-Lafiagi, the victim, identified as Mr. Amos, and his brother were harvesting cassava on their farmland when the attackers struck.

Mr. Amos was reportedly on top of a tractor while others were loading cassava. Upon sighting the bandits, those on the ground fled for safety. Unfortunately, before Mr. Amos could dismount from the tractor, he was shot in the abdomen.

He was immediately rushed to the nearest health facility but was later referred to Ilorin for advanced medical care. However, he was confirmed dead while being transported to the state capital due to excessive blood loss.

The source further lamented the lack of adequate medical infrastructure in the area, noting that the only available facility is a primary health centre at Zambufu whose capacity to handle such emergencies remains uncertain.

The attack reportedly occurred less than one kilometre from Wodata village, raising fresh concerns about the security of rural farming communities.
