NACCIMA invites GZMISA to invest in Nigeria, visits expansive automobile showrooms in Guangzhou
In another bold step that underlines its commitment to strengthening industrial partnerships and economic cooperation, the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), led by its National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, mni, OON, on Friday, May 1, 2026 met with the executives of Guanghzou Modern Information Service Industry Association (GZMISA).
The meeting explored areas of mutual interest and collaborations to deepen the existing bilateral relations between Nigeria and China.
GZMISA is a key institution in Guangzhou, China composed of a group of entrepreneurs, industry representatives, experts and scholars with rich international experience. Their mission is to integrate resources, explore markets worldwide and deeply promote exchanges in various fields such as economy, trade and culture, science and technology, especially with countries and regions in the Belt and Road.
Leaders of the association were present at the successful NACCIMA Business and Investment Forum held days ago at the Crowne Plaza Window of Canton Hotel, Guanghzou.
In his remarks at the meeting, the National President of NACCIMA commended the great work GZMISA is doing for cooperation, development, and industrial partnerships.
He said NACCIMA remains the ideal partner for the GZMISA to navigate the Nigerian market, which is also a getaway to the vast African market.
“NACCIMA covers over 100 Chambers in every city, state, sector and we are also the Chair of the Organised Private Sector in Nigeria. We are the biggest Chamber movement in Africa. So, if you want to cooperate with Africa, you first come to Nigeria, and in Nigeria, you come through NACCIMA,” the National President noted.
He explained that Nigeria is rapidly expanding, wooing Chinese investors to take advantage of the several opportunities the country presents across fields.
“What matters to us is to see the investors in Nigeria. If you invest in Nigeria, you are investing in Africa. We have the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, which allows duty-free exports to all 54 countries that are signatories to it.
“You are also aware we have so many Chinese companies in Nigeria thriving and working successfully. We want GZMISA to be part of that success,” Engr. Ibrahim stated.
On the delegation of the National President were NACCIMA executives such as the President of Ilesha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ILECCIMA), Mr. Peterson Timothy; first Deputy President of Borno Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BOCCIMA), Alhaji Goni Dunoma; NACCIMA China Relations Executive, Arc. Zakirudeen Oladotun; National Public Relations Officer of NACCIMA, Mrs Madinat Adigun-Oladotun; a former President of Kwara Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Mr. Fatai Ayodimeji; representative of the Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC); among others.
The meeting also had the gracious attendance of the Consul-General of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Guangzhou, H.E. Mairo Musa Abbas, and her team.
Earlier in her own remarks, the Consul-General gave the assurances of working with relevant stakeholders in Guangzhou, China to drive prosperity and investments to Nigeria.
While noting her commitment to the realisation of the $1 trillion dollar economy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Amb. Mairo said the Consulate would continue to highlight the investment opportunities in Nigeria so that the Chinese business community can take the lead in reaping the benefits.
Vice President of GZMISA, Ladin Chen, said Nigeria is an improvement partner in Africa, noting the huge opportunities for trade, industrial cooperation and business exchange in the country.
She said GZMISA will work with NACCIMA to achieve mutual objectives and greater industrialisation in both countries.
Executive President of GZMISA, James Yang, was also part of the meeting, along with several other officials of the Guanghzou-based association.
The Nigerian delegation later embarked on an industrial tour of two showrooms of the expansive Guangzhou Autoworld Export Base, one of the several businesses within the GZMISA.
The visit, added to previous industrial tours in Guangzhou, further broadened the vision of the NACCIMA delegates to business processes and investment opportunities.
