Bandits Abduct Onigbesi Monarch, Others As Multiple Kidnappings Hit Kwara Within 24 Hours
Bandits have reportedly invaded Igbesi community in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State and abducted the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Moses Oyinloye, Iwedunmoye I.
The incident reportedly occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday when armed bandits stormed the community in a fierce attack.
A source who spoke to NupekoTV said the attackers successfully abducted the monarch, popularly known as the Kabiyesi Onigbesi of Igbesi land, and whisked him away to an unknown location.
The source also said other residents were reportedly abducted during the attack.
The latest incident comes amid a series of reported kidnapping attacks in different parts of Kwara State within the past 24 hours, raising fresh concerns over the security situation in the state.
Igbesi is a community within Oke-Onigbin town in Isin Local Government Area, Kwara South.
As of the time of filing this report, details on the number of other victims and the whereabouts of the abducted monarch remained unclear.
