Terrorists Kidnap Monarch’s Wife in Kwara, Demand ₦20 Million Ransom
KWARA — Suspected terrorists have reportedly kidnapped the wife of a traditional ruler in Kwara State and demanded a ransom of ₦20 million for her release.
According to a report by Afrika Eyes, the attackers stormed the community on Friday night, August 21, 2026, before abducting the monarch’s wife.
The abductors were also reported to have used the TikTok account of another kidnap victim to post information relating to the abduction and make their ransom demand.
Details of the incident, including the identity of the abducted woman and the traditional ruler, were not immediately clear. However, the incident has reportedly heightened tension in the affected community amid growing concerns over persistent attacks and kidnappings across parts of Kwara State.
The development adds to a series of security incidents involving traditional institutions and residents in several communities in the state, as armed groups continue to target victims for ransom.
