Bandits Reportedly Kidnap Farmer in Fresh Attack on Farming Community

A farmer identified as Mohammed Nna has reportedly been abducted by suspected bandits while checking his farmland in the Lata Nna axis of Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State.

According to residents who spoke with NupekoTV on Monday morning, the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when Mohammed reportedly went to his farmland to inspect the condition of his farm.

The residents said the farmer was subsequently intercepted and taken into captivity by the suspected bandits.

According to the account, Mohammed was able to contact someone in a neighbouring community and inform them that he had been abducted and was being held by the armed men.

The information was subsequently relayed to his family, who were said to have been thrown into anxiety following the development.

As of the time of filing this report, the suspected kidnappers had reportedly not contacted the victim's family to demand ransom.

The latest incident has heightened concerns among residents of Lata Nna and surrounding communities, particularly farmers who have continued to face security challenges while attempting to access their farmlands.

Residents told NupekoTV that the situation is increasingly affecting farming activities in the area, with many farmers now concerned about their safety whenever they travel to their farms.
