The political atmosphere in Kwara State is gradually heating up ahead of the 2027 general elections, following the display of names and details of candidates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Among the names attracting attention are Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Bala Usman, Jiya Kolo and Moshood Bakare, alongside other politicians listed in connection with the forthcoming elections.

The display of the candidates’ particulars forms part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 elections and provides political parties, candidates and members of the public an opportunity to examine the information submitted for the various contests.

The development is expected to generate fresh political discussions across Kwara as parties intensify consultations, mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the elections.
