Dr. Sanusi Haruna Lafiagi has raised concerns over the activities of a self-acclaimed Islamic healer popularly known as Haske, who is reportedly operating in Agaie Local Government Area of Niger State.

In a strongly worded warning published on his Facebook handle, Dr. Sanusi urged residents to exercise caution and avoid falling victim to individuals who claim to possess extraordinary spiritual powers or the ability to perform miraculous healing.

The warning follows the emergence of several social media videos in which Haske reportedly claims to have spiritually healed individuals. The videos have attracted attention and generated discussions among residents and social media users.

Drawing from what he described as a similar experience involving another self-acclaimed spiritual healer who operated in parts of Nupeland years ago, Dr. Sanusi expressed concern that the new development could expose vulnerable members of the public to exploitation if left unchecked.

According to him, the previous case involved allegations of fake healing, accusations against innocent people, family disputes and financial exploitation. He alleged that some victims were reportedly asked to pay substantial sums of money based on promises of spiritual interventions and other benefits.

Dr. Sanusi said the experience should serve as a warning to the public against blindly accepting claims of supernatural healing without proper verification.

He also expressed concern that educated members of society and traditional authorities could become involved in promoting individuals whose claims have not been independently established.

Regarding the current situation in Agaie, Dr. Sanusi alleged that Haske, whom he described as originally from Edo State, had recently emerged in the area and was attracting followers through videos and claims of spiritual healing.

He appealed to community leaders, religious scholars and Niger State stakeholders, including individuals he specifically mentioned as Ahmed Katuka, to pay attention to the development and ensure that residents are protected from possible exploitation.

The doctor further called for vigilance among residents, particularly those seeking solutions to health, family or personal challenges, warning them against surrendering their finances or making major decisions solely on the basis of unverified spiritual claims.

Dr. Sanusi's intervention has, however, raised an important question about the need for responsible verification before allegations of fraud, criminality or fake healing are established against any individual.

As the controversy surrounding Haske continues to attract attention in Agaie and across Nupeland, residents are being urged to remain calm, verify claims independently and report any suspected exploitation or criminal conduct to the appropriate authorities.
