Bandits Kidnap Four in Ilorin Community, Demand N50m Ransom as Families Seek Government’s Intervention

Fear and anxiety have gripped residents of Abangbe Village in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State following the abduction of four persons by suspected bandits, with the kidnappers reportedly demanding N50 million for their release.

The victims, identified as Abike, Semiu, Sofiat and Ramadan, were reportedly kidnapped on October 25, 2026, in Abangbe Village, near Oke-Oyi, in Ilorin East Local Government Area.

Following the incident, the families of the abducted persons have appealed to the Kwara State Government, security agencies and well-meaning Nigerians to urgently intervene and facilitate the safe release of their loved ones.

In an appeal circulated by the families, they expressed deep concern over the continued detention of the victims and called for immediate action to secure their freedom.

The families disclosed that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N50 million, an amount they said had placed an enormous financial burden on them.

They also appealed to members of the public to support efforts towards securing the victims’ release, stressing that their priority was to see their loved ones return home safely.

The incident has renewed concerns over the security situation in communities around Oke-Oyi and other parts of Ilorin East, where residents continue to seek stronger security measures to protect lives and property.

The families are therefore calling on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Police Command and other relevant security agencies to intensify efforts, investigate the abduction and ensure the safe rescue of Abike, Semiu, Sofiat and Ramadan.

They urged the government not to allow the victims’ situation to linger, while appealing to residents and the general public to provide any useful information that could assist security operatives in securing their freedom.
