Residents of Akorede, Alagbon and Tapa communities in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State have raised concerns over the alleged demolition of houses and other properties in the affected communities.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 12, 2026, when heavy-duty equipment, including caterpillars, was brought into the areas and demolition operations allegedly commenced.

According to the affected residents, the development has caused distress among families whose properties were reportedly affected by the exercise.

The residents are appealing to the Kwara State Government to urgently intervene, investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged demolition and provide clarification on the reason for the exercise.
