Kwara 2027: ASKOMP Invites 12 Governorship Candidates for Manifesto Discourse

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) has invited 12 governorship candidates and their political parties to participate in a manifesto discourse ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State.

The initiative is aimed at promoting issue-based campaigns, constructive political engagement and public discussions on governance and development priorities across the state.

Saeed Tijjani, Secretary of the Local Organising Committee for the ASKOMP Manifesto Discourse, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, explaining that invitations had been extended to all candidates on the final list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to the statement, the discourse will provide candidates and their political parties with a platform to present their manifestos, policy blueprints, working documents and development plans directly to the people of Kwara State.

“The Manifesto Discourse will provide candidates and political parties the opportunity to discuss their manifesto, articulate their policy blueprints, working documents and developmental plans directly to Kwara citizens,” the statement said.

Tijjani added that the association had also invited representatives of organised labour, civil society organisations, traditional institutions, religious bodies, student associations and media partners to participate in the event.

ASKOMP said the initiative is designed to encourage constructive engagement between political candidates and the electorate while strengthening democratic participation and accountability ahead of the 2027 election.

The manifesto discourse is expected to provide an opportunity for citizens and relevant stakeholders to engage with the candidates on their proposed policies and development agenda for Kwara State.
