PDP Baruten Leaders, Stakeholders Meet in Okuta, Rally Support for Iliasu’s 2027 Senatorial Bid

Leaders and stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Baruten Local Government Area convened a strategic meeting in Okuta on Saturday to strengthen party unity and mobilize for the 2027 general elections.

The gathering drew the 11 ward chairmen, ward women leaders, and youth representatives from across the local government.

Party leaders said the meeting was convened to consolidate existing harmony among members and to advance the senatorial ambition of Engr. Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu ahead of the 2027 polls.

Speakers at the event stressed the need for cohesion and grassroots mobilization, describing Iliasu as a unifying figure capable of delivering effective representation for Kwara North at the National Assembly.

The meeting ended with a resolution by attendees to intensify consultations and sensitization across all wards in Baruten LGA, as part of early preparations
