Rise from NCE to PhD: Mohammed Ndaba Jiya Lafiagi, Records Outstanding Academic Milestones

Mohammed Ndaba Jiya, an indigene of Lafiagi in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, has continued to distinguish himself through an impressive academic journey spanning Mathematics, Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.

Jiya’s academic record reflects consistent excellence, progressing from emerging as the overall best graduating student at the College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi, to earning a First Class degree in Mathematics and a Distinction in Applied Mathematics at the postgraduate level.

He obtained a National Certificate in Education (NCE) in Mathematics/Computer Science, where he emerged as the overall best in his class at the College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi.

He subsequently proceeded to the Federal University Dutse (FUD), where he studied Mathematics and graduated with First Class honours, recording a cumulative grade point average of 4.85/5.00.

His undergraduate performance earned him recognition as the 2017/2018 Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Science at the Federal University Dutse.

Jiya further advanced his academic career by earning a Master of Technology (MTech) in Applied Mathematics from the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), where he graduated with Distinction, achieving a CGPA of 4.64/5.00.

He also emerged as the Overall Best in Class during his MTech programme at FUTMINNA.

Currently, Jiya is pursuing a PhD in Applied Mathematics, marking another significant step in his academic career.

His progression from the College of Education (Technical), Lafiagi, through undergraduate and postgraduate studies to doctoral research highlights a sustained commitment to academic excellence and professional development.
