Kwara Approves 2025 Promotion for Civil Servants, 2024 and 2025 for Agencies

The Kwara State Government has approved the implementation of the 2025 promotion exercise for workers in the mainstream civil service, as well as the 2024 and 2025 promotions for employees of government agencies, parastatals and media houses.

The promotions are expected to take effect from September 1, 2026, following the completion of the required processes by the Kwara State Civil Service Commission and other affected establishments.

The Acting Head of Service, Dr. Olufunke Mercy Shittu, announced the development in a memo on the implementation of the promotion exercises, stating that the approval followed the conclusion of the necessary procedures and assessment of the financial implications involved.

According to the memo, the 2025 promotion for workers in the mainstream civil service has been approved, with the financial benefits attached to the exercise to be drawn from September 1, 2026.

The government also approved the implementation of the 2024 and 2025 promotion exercises for workers in agencies, parastatals and media houses after the relevant processes had been completed.

The Acting Head of Service said the decision was part of the administration's efforts to improve workers' welfare, motivate employees and promote career advancement within the state public service.

She added that improved career progression and workers' welfare would contribute to higher morale and productivity across the state workforce.

The approval was given by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq following the completion of the required processes, according to the Office of the Head of Service.

The latest development is expected to provide financial and career benefits to eligible workers whose promotions are covered by the approved exercises.
