Azeez Adisa-Jaji Declares for Assembly Race, Promises Effective Representation in Alanamu
Azeez Adisa-Jaji has officially declared his intention to contest for the Kwara State House of Assembly seat representing Ilorin North-West Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pledging to deliver quality representation and restore democratic values in Alanamu Ward.
Speaking during his declaration at the PDP Secretariat in Alanamu on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Adisa-Jaji emphasized that politics should primarily serve the people and drive societal development. He noted that his decision to join the race stems from years of engagement in academic and student activism, where he observed systemic failures affecting the constituency.
He criticized the current state of representation in the area, describing it as ineffective and lacking legislative impact. According to him, the constituency has suffered from poor representation, including the absence of sponsored bills and weak legislative independence.
Adisa-Jaji stressed that the legislative arm of government must prioritize people-oriented laws that promote economic growth, unity, and security. He also highlighted the need for the assembly to play a more proactive role in addressing insecurity through legislative measures rather than remaining passive.
Positioning himself as an agent of change, he called on party stakeholders and constituents to support his ambition, stating that the time had come to rewrite the political history of Alanamu Ward with purposeful leadership.
Reaffirming his loyalty to the PDP, Adisa-Jaji said his continued commitment to the party is rooted in its democratic ideals and shared values with its leadership, particularly former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
Highlighting his leadership experience, he described himself as a long-standing advocate for social justice and democratic equity, with a background in student leadership, including his role in the National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS).
He further outlined his campaign philosophy anchored on “Masses, Matters, and Manners,” promising to address the needs of his constituents with transparency, respect, and dedication.
Adisa-Jaji recalled his previous attempt to secure the party’s ticket in 2023, noting that he remained loyal to the party’s decision and worked for its success. He expressed optimism that the 2027 general election presents another opportunity to serve.
He concluded by appealing for the support and guidance of party members and stakeholders, assuring them of his commitment to delivering impactful and people-centered representation.
