The Lata Nna Community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State has welcomed the fresh deployment of military personnel to the community, five months after troops were withdrawn from the area, with residents appreciating NupekoTV for its advocacy on their security situation.
The community, which has suffered attacks and loss of lives in the past, also expressed appreciation to the military Camp at Gada and social media users who helped draw attention to its security challenges.
In a statement by Aliyu Ishaku, a youth representative of the community, residents described the arrival of the military officers as a welcome development that has renewed their hope for peace and security.
“The good people of Lata Nna Community gladly welcome our gallant military officers today,” the statement said.
The community specifically thanked the military Camp at Gada, NupekoTV and every social media user who stood by them and brought attention to their plight.
“Your support made a real difference,” the community said.
Residents acknowledged the pain and losses suffered during previous attacks, but said the renewed military presence has given them the strength to look forward to peaceful days ahead.
They also prayed for the safety of the military personnel and pledged their full support for their operations.
“We pray that God guards you in every operation, grants you victory, and brings you back safely to your loved ones. Lata Nna stands with you completely,” the statement added.
The community’s appreciation comes after months of security concerns in the area, during which NupekoTV and social media users repeatedly amplified calls for stronger security presence and protection for residents.
