Fresh Midnight Attack in Lafiagi: Suspected Bandits Abduct Couple Near Provost Lodge

Residents of Lafiagi in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State have again been thrown into fear following another suspected bandit attack that reportedly occurred in the early hours of Thursday.

According to sources who spoke with NupekoTV, the attack took place at about 12:00 a.m., with armed men reportedly abducting two persons from a residence located near the Provost Lodge area of the town.

Community sources identified the victims as a Fulani husband and wife who were said to be living in the neighborhood before the attack.

Further details gathered by NupekoTV indicate that the abducted man is reportedly a brother of Wudere, a Fulani leader who was said to have been the target of an earlier attack in the Sodo axis of Lafiagi on Monday night.

Residents alleged that the attackers stormed the area under the cover of darkness and whisked the couple away to an unknown destination before fleeing the community.

The latest incident comes less than 40 hours after another attack in the Sodo/Sawmill area of Lafiagi, where one person was reportedly killed and several others abducted.
